The Reparations Map created by Soul Fire shows land based reparations and land stewardship by BIPOC folks. My concept for the map was to put the usa on the back of turtle, to honor Turtle Island. Some Indigenous peoples called the usa, Turtle Island, based off overlapping Native American origin stories. Locaton icons are turned upside to represent drops of water. States lines are dotted lines to reflect porousness and combat colonization.
Throughout the report you will see themes of circles of people. Circles are non-hierarchal.
